The Weight Was Never Yours to Carry
You’re not disqualified for feeling tired. You’re invited to finally rest.
Dear Sisterfriend,
Let’s get honest for a moment.
You’ve been carrying too much for too long.
You’ve been the anchor, the answer, the safe place, and the strong one.
The one who shows up, even when you’re running on empty.
The one who keeps it all together, while silently falling apart.
But tell me this:
Who told you it was your job to carry it all?
That’s not a badge of honor.
That’s a silent prison.
And today, I believe God is unlocking the door.
Because truthfully, it’s not your job to fix everybody.
It’s not your job to hold up broken systems or carry the emotional weight of everyone else’s choices.
It’s not your job to overperform just to feel enough.
You were never meant to be the Savior—only the surrendered.
The weight of what they did to you?
Lay it down.
The burden of who they expect you to be?
Lay it down.
The shame, the secrets, the story that’s been playing on repeat in your head telling you it’s your fault?
Lay it all down.
You don’t need another coping mechanism.
You need a place to collapse.
And God is offering that place.
Right now.
No conditions. No performance. No striving.
Just you—and Him.
Heart open. Hands released.
Ready to receive the rest your soul has been craving.
This month is not about proving.
It’s about pausing.
It’s about reclaiming your breath, your peace, and your rightful place at the feet of the One who never asked you to carry it all.
So let me say it plainly:
You’re not weak for laying it down.
You’re wise.
You’re worthy.
You’re finally ready to be healed.
Rest easy, Queen.
God’s got it.
And He’s got you.
With a full heart,
Dr. Anita McDaniel
