THE WEIGHT YOU CARRY IS NOT YOUR IDENTITY
YOU ARE NOT JUST WHAT YOU HOLD FOR OTHERS
Dear Sisterfriend,
You’ve become strong out of necessity, not always out of choice.
People lean on you, depend on you, and expect you to carry weight—
But you were never called to be the weight bearer. That’s God’s job.
Somewhere along the way, you started to believe that if you let go, everything would fall apart.
That your worth was tied to your doing, your managing, your holding it all together.
But hear this truth:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
You are not just the nurturer. You are not just the provider.
You are not just the fixer. You are not just the counselor.
You are God’s daughter. That identity alone qualifies you to receive rest.
This month, let this be your sacred reset.
Release what was never yours to carry.
Let your heart rest in the One who carries you.
You are more than what you hold.
You are more than what you’ve had to heal from.
And you are still whole—even if you’re still healing.
With grace and fire,
Dr. Anita McDaniel
